Comcast Moves Up Date for Stake Sale or Purchase

The Walt Disney Company (DIS) and Comcast's (CMCSA) NBCUniversal have reached an impasse in their negotiations over ownership of Hulu, with Disney guaranteeing a sale price that would value the streaming service at a minimum of $27.5 billion.

In 2019, Disney and Comcast agreed to a deal that would give Disney majority control of Hulu, with Comcast retaining a minority stake and the option to sell or purchase the remainder of its interest in the future.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Comcast has moved up the date for the sale or purchase of its remaining stake in Hulu, now set for January 2024. This move puts pressure on Disney to either reach a deal or risk losing its control of Hulu.
